Introduction

Wuhan is a historic city where ancient heritage and modern development meet along the Yangtze River, embodying the river's fluidity and enduring beauty. As the city pursues its vision of becoming a "City of a Thousand Parks" through pocket gardens, this project builds on existing mountain-and-water park concepts, proposing a high-line park strategy. The design weaves the city with the river, drawing people from the urban edge toward the water. The bridge expands and contracts—widening into viewing platforms, narrowing into pathways—creating a rhythmic play of openness and intimacy. Platforms intersect and extend, forming a new bridge where blue interactive water features and green planting intertwine, crafting a restorative third space. Within this layered flow, five loops emerge: green, water, pedestrian, art, and sport—each a different rhythm in the same choreography.
